Is this a coating that goes on my floor?
There are several different treatments depending on the surface in question. Generally, the treatment that is most commonly used is not a coating. It is a treatment solution that imprints a microscopic tread pattern on the tiles that is so slight it is not visible to the naked eye. There are certain surfaces that do require a coating treatment.

I have not had anyone slip and fall on my property, so why do I need your services?
That is great! Our services will help to ensure that it stays that way. Most people are under the illusion that dry tile is sufficient to prevent future accidents, but that is false security. All it can take is one liquid spill on the floor when someone is not expecting it, and they can slip and fall and possibly wind up injured. At that point it’s too late. Act before it gets to that point, and that is where we can assist you.

Do you guarantee that we will never have another slip and fall incident?
NO, we don’t! No one can provide that sort of guarantee with 100% certainty. Our application will increase the traction on your floor to satisfy the Coefficient of Friction as recommended by the ADA and OSHA.

Is this service available for commercial or residential applications?
Absolutely! It works on both commercial and residential properties. Bathtubs, showers, kitchen and bathroom floors are all susceptible to becoming slippery when wet. We have a solution for those situations. We would be glad to come out and assess the situation, give a quote and perform the service in a professional, cost-effective and timely manner!

Is the service expensive?
Ordinarily not. The cost depends on several criteria. We take into account the surface to be treated, the square footage, completion time and of course the treatment product needed. You have to remember that this application will reduce the likelihood of any future potential catastrophic slip and fall injury. Injuries as a result of a slip and fall accident are way more costly than the cost of our service. Most companies and individuals are extremely satisfied with the services because they don’t want to experience the alternative.

How do we know if our floors are slippery when they are wet?
That’s a good question. But we don’t want you to find out because you or someone else falls. That’s where we come in. We can perform a Static Coefficient of Friction test to determine just how slippery your floors are when wet. All you need to do is click on the “Contact Us” button and fill out the form and one of our Certified Professionals will contact you to set an appointment to test your floors.

Well, can I test the floors myself?
Yes, you could if you had the proper training, tools and equipment. Most people do not have any of the above; therefore, they request a company to come in who has the ability and equipment to perform the test properly and install the application to achieve the desired slip-resistance.

How long do I need to wait before I can walk on my floors?
In most cases, the treated areas can be walked on as soon as the job has been completed. There is no curing period or drying time. Most of our treatments are ready for immediate use!

Do I really need this service?
Yes you do! Give us a call so we can show you the difference our service can make. We want your place to be safe for your employees, customers, clients, family and friends alike. You focus on what you do best and let us focus on what we do best! Give us a call or fill out the form on the website and you will see how well we service our clients.

Exactly what does the Wet Tech treatment do?
The treatment products that are used by Wet Tech Surface Solutions create a chemical reaction with the minerals of the surface of your floor, resulting in increased traction. Surfaces become safer when wet that dry because of the increased traction, allowing for safe, sure footing.

Is this the most effective way to reduce slip-and-fall accidents?
Yes! Slip-and-fall accidents are the number one cause of Workman’s Compensation claims and liability claims and are the number two leading cause of injury throughout the United States. For many years, the only means for reducing slip-and-fall accidents was by applying epoxy or other textured substances to the floor, by installing unsightly strips of grit-paper or expensive carpet runners (which may create trip hazards), or by adding rubber mats that are unattractive and need continuous replacement.

What about bathtubs and shower stalls?
The treatments can be applied to any stone surface, so porcelain bathtubs and ceramic tile shower stalls can be treated. However, any type of non-porous surface, such as fiberglass, cannot be treated but would require a coating.

What do you mean by “Coefficient of Friction”?
The ratio of the amount of force required to move an object across a surface divided by the weight of the object is known as the Coefficient of Friction (COF). The more force that is required to move the object, the safer the surface will be for a person walking across that surface.
